HM Government has today opened the public survey for Suffolk residents to voice their opinions on the One Suffolk and Three Suffolk proposals.
The Parish Council may issue a response as a collective and Parish Councillors may also respond separately as residents.
Overspend in County Council Budget Q2, 2025/26
The Conservative Administration has reported a £20 million overspend in its ongoing 2025/26 revenue budget, with current spending projected to hit £824 million, against the budget of £804 million approved by Full Council at February’s Full Council meeting. £10 million of this overspend originates in Children and Young People’s Services failing to source cost effective care places within Suffolk and a reliance on out of county contracts, as well as a failed £2 million transformation plan in care services.
High Street, Acton Road Markings
As promised, I investigated the abovementioned following October’s meeting, however on leaving the meeting Cllr Johnson and I quickly discovered they had in fact been painted earlier that day.
Financing of Village Projects
Following a conversation with the Chairman Cllr Round, I will await further instruction from the Parish Council as to financing splits of the Barrow Hill/High Street intersection improvement and tree maintenance on Daniels Close.
Reporting of Discarded Road signs on Melford Road
I have been notified about the abovementioned and reported to Highways for collection.
Planning Application at Cuckoo Tye
I continue to monitor the application for a dog based commercial business closely and am liaising with Cllr Malvisi on the matter, with a view of attending a future planning committee meeting if it is ‘called in’.
I wish you all a very Happy Christmas when it comes around, and thank you for another strong year our partnership for the benefit of Acton and its residents.
Kind regards,
Philip Faircloth-Mutton
Suffolk County Councillor – Sudbury East & Waldingfield Division
