PARISH EMERGENCY COMMUNITY PLAN (PECP)

Acton Parish Council has drawn up a PECP for use by those principally involved in reacting to and supporting any action required in support of the emergency services or local government. The Plan is not prescriptive and is designed to be used in a range of different contingencies and by anyone that might be involved, not just those on the parish council. The Plan, which is not uploaded here because it has personal contact details, will normally be set in action by either the Parish Clerk, Cllr John Gibbens, Cllr Carol Dyer or Cllr Graham Round and may be supported by the village hall Charity manager.

WHAT IS A COMMUNITY EMERGENCY?

A community emergency is any event that severely disrupts the routine existence of the village or where life is endangered.

Examples include:

Prolonged power failure, failure of the water supply, severe flooding, chemical spillage, traffic accident or aircraft accident.

response is likely to involve more than one element of the emergency services and may include District or County Council resources as well as those utility providers (water, electricity and gas).
